Notes

Jonathan was the chief 'permanent way' inspector for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER)based at Norwich (Thorpe) railway station. He was hit by a train at County School Station Norfolk and died at the scene, it was his 63rd birthday!. It is said in the family that this was also to be his retirement day. Picture believed to be at Holkham Hall- Norfolk. I went to Holkham Hall and the balustrade bit isn't like this. I have now scanned all the family pics, and this picture isn't anywhere it's a photographers studio! When you zoom in you can see this quite clearly. What a swizz!
